The oils used to develop this Cosmetic Insect Repellent have been carefully selected to offer the greatest insect repellent capacity.

Firstly , citronella essential oil is used, it is composed of geraniol, citronellal, citronellol, geranyl acetate, limonene, methyl isoeugenol, elemol, sesquiterpene alcohol.

These ingredients prevent insects from coming into contact with the skin.

Lemon essential oil , which contains mainly limonene and geranial, and lemongrass essential oil, which is mainly composed of citral, as well as citronellol, geraniol, etc., are also used. The compounds that both contain make them powerful repellents. In addition, they give the product a pleasant citrus aroma.

Another essential oil used is lavandin , this oil is characteristic because it contains more than 25% linalool, which is recognized by the EPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) as an active ingredient to repel insects.

Eucalyptus essential oil is mainly composed of eucalyptol, a natural repellent, which has a higher molecular density than the rest of the selected essential oils, this allows it to last longer on the skin and, consequently, longer protection against insects.

Camphor oil is characterized by the presence of terpenes, aromatic organic compounds that serve as insect repellents.

Finally, mint essential oil has been selected because it contains around 30-55% menthol, which has the ability to repel insects.

Due to the combination of these 6 oils, in fully studied concentrations, which provide high protection against different insect bites, a safe cosmetic spray has been developed.
